Phoenix Aero Club Social Events
At Phoenix Aero Club we host flying competitions which include mini-navigation exercises which are organised in the training area (so that GFPT holders can participate) . A variety of other competitions are held throughout the year including landing competitions and the instructors can throw in a surprise competition which is lots of fun.
Every second month we have fly-aways to an airport in a one to two hour range from Camden. These provide a great alternative to the Camden circuit and training area and it is possible for a student to fly in the company of an instructor and experience the delights of flying cross-country and landing at a different location. For others, back seat navigation helps to sharpen the skills. Lunch is organised and enjoyed at our destination and then it is time to return to our aircraft, swap seats and set course for Camden. Further details are available from Greg Cox.Aircraft can be hired by members for longer fly-aways including overnight stays - for details contact CFI.
