Phoenix Aero Club is proud of its community-first focus. We are a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation that works for you! Since 1977 we have been providing aspiring and licensed pilots a place to share their passion for aviation, and we would love for you to join us. 

Our club can only operate because of the generous work our volunteers contribute throughout the year to help maintain the club. We lean on our club members to help out with the day to day operations of the club- through a duty pilot roster on weekends, and frequent working bees. Helping with activities like mowing the lawn, cleaning aircraft, and taking out the bins means we can focus our valuable resources on flying, offering our aircraft for hire at some of the most competitive rates in the Sydney basin.  

In addition, you’ll see that our instructor rates are a fraction of that charged by large commercial operators. Our incredible instructors generously volunteer their time and skills to the club, and by helping them out (refueling aircraft between flights, helping push aircraft onto tie-downs, cleaning aircraft etc.) it ensures their time can be best spent teaching!
