Phoenix Aero Club is a not-for-profit aero club and CASA Part 141 training organisation. Our goal is to promote safe aviation for anyone to enjoy and participate in. We welcome all licensed pilots and aspiring pilots to join our club and share in our passion for aviation. Our club is run by its members and we want to be a part of your aviation journey!

We have an extremely rich history operating as an aero club in Sydney since 1977 and our main focus, is you! You can learn to fly anywhere, however, we strongly believe that our club offers a unique attraction as a social destination with a strong club-first mentality. We strive to make our club the place where you want to spend your entire day at. Whether you’re taking the time to do some extra study before and after your flight, or taking part in our lunchtime BBQ, you never know who you’re going to meet. We’ve fostered the growth of aircraft syndicates, study groups and life-long friendships! There are always social and networking opportunities; aviation is a small and tight-nit industry in Australia. Take advantage of that at our club and meet others who share your passion for flying.

If you’ve ever been a member of a sporting or recreational club, you know that surrounding yourself with others that share your passion is a priceless way to enhance your hobby. Our membership base is incredibly diverse; we have Qantas pilots and engineers you can ask for career advise, as well as aircraft owners who may have a spare seat on their next trip!

Learn to fly!
Flight Training
We can show you the thrill of flying an aircraft, taking you from your first ever flight, right through to obtaining your Commercial Pilot Licence (and everything in between). We are a CASA CASR Part 141 training organisation and can teach the following:
Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL)
The RPL is your first step to an exhilarating career or life long passion. You will learn how to pilot an aircraft safely, from aircraft handling and performance to being able to communicate effectively over the radio.
Private Pilot Licence (PPL)
A PPL allows you to fly anywhere in Australia and gain ratings (including Night VFR and Instrument Ratings) as well as endorsements to fly many exciting new aircraft.
Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)
The CPL allows you to fly for hire or reward, anywhere in Australia. This licence includes 7 theory assessments and is the first major milestone in your aviation career.
Private Aircraft Hire
Are you in need of an aircraft to complete a harbour scenic flight? Are you a CPL student building hours and want to take an aircraft for 2 weeks on a tour of NSW? Phoenix Aero Club is pleased to make available its fleet of aircraft for private hire. We we want to see pilots enjoy the benefits of holding a licence, and go on trips far and wide across our beautiful country! Our aircraft hiring rates are extremely competitive, as we are entirely volunteer-run. If you private hire an aircraft with us, you will enroll in a stringent system that is designed to make renting an aircraft easy and flexible, yet above all, safe. This system includes an initial onboarding process whereby we check your credentials, which may include a check flight. From there we will guide you through the logistics of accessing the aircraft, including the location of key equipment such as oil, tie-downs, and life jackets. Flight School

Aircraft Hire
Our well-maintained fleet of private aircraft is available for hire to licenced pilots. Whether you are going away for a weekend or just want to brush up on your skills, we have the aircraft for you.
FBO Facilities
Are you an aircraft owner based at Camden? You and your passengers can make use of our facilities before and after your flight. We can provide a large storage locker to keep your essential equipment onsite and safe.

Phoenix Aero Club has a variety of instructors from all backgrounds ranging from airline captains to multi-engine charter pilots to expert teachers and engineers. All the experiences from our instructors are used to deliver the finest flight training to you.
All our staff and volunteers are connected to aviation in some way, from maintenance engineers to pilots. All have worked their way up through their their careers and are involved in delivering the services and facilities you need for optimum learning and success.
All our aircraft are meticulously maintained by our in-house engineer to a high standard. We upgrade our aircraft as often as we can to stay current with the technology available today.
